The "FMVSS No. 302 combustion test" is an evaluation of the flammability of materials used in automotive interior components. A test specimen (350×100×t mm) is held horizontally between U-shaped metal plates, and a 38mm flame is applied to the end for 15 seconds to measure the burn rate over a distance of 254mm from line A to line B.
